Job Summary

The FMLA Representative telephonically assists our customers’ employees in the efficient and accurate tracking of their FMLA benefits.

Primary Responsibilities

Gain full understanding of Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and related laws in all 50 states and transfer knowledge into satisfying our caller’s needs and concerns.
Listen effectively in order to identify and respond to the needs of the caller while remaining empathetic and assuring in matters of FMLA and other related leaves.
Track employee absences as reported via phone and e-mail.
Apply concepts and rules as mandated by appropriate state and federal guidelines for FMLA absences and absences under other company leaves in coordination with customer policy.
Consult with our customers (employees and managers) regarding absence issues.
Maintain an empathetic and professional demeanor while communicating with all customers consistently.
Learn and navigate the FMLA Source software database to open claims, document claims and conversations, send out communication, and track attendance for all FMLA Source customers.
Accurately articulate to the FMLA Source customer their eligibility, their responsibilities, their entitlement and the parameters of their leave request.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with Customer HR Staff, Disability Center staff, and individual employees as needed.
Partner with other FMLA Source team members to respond quickly to customer needs consistently and positively in order to foster a team environment.
Correctly approve and deny certifications for bereavement, personal, family, and company leaves for FMLA Source customers.
Prioritize and organize daily responsibilities in order to meet all deadlines in relation to correspondence with customers.
Must be punctual and maintain an excellent attendance record.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
Experience with Employee Benefits Administration and/or Call Center preferred
Stable work history required
Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus!
